Bob was born on May 1, 1951 in Rushville, Illinois.  He was the proud son of Bob and Wanda Wheelhouse (owners of the Wheelhouse TV), best friend to his two brothers, Bill and Jim Wheelhouse, loving husband of 37 years to Pam Wheelhouse, and devoted father to Rob, Michelle, and Dan.  Bob was the life of the party! He loved rock n’ roll, books, architecture, food, friends and family.  Bob treasured his visits with family and friends in Rushville and, in particular, taking his family on walks around the square.  He often remarked on his admiration for the architecture at 417 West Washington—our famed Ray House.  This stunning example of rural Illinois Italianate and Gothic Revival architecture will live on through his memorial. 

During Smiles Day Weekend in September of 2019, we welcomed Bob’s family to Rushville for a special tour of the Ray House.  We’re so honored to memorialize his amazing legacy through the future renovation of the Ray House.
